Queen Anne's LaceIt is the year 2113. A time when everything is dying due to the misuse and “rape” of the planet Earth… in the midst of the impending cataclysm, a white flower comes out of the ocean and advances across the land. It is unstoppable, but not aggressive.

Four boys meet a mysterious young woman in the forest that the wild, white flowers seem to be following. The misguided and abusive interaction between three of the boys and this strange young woman, and then the following sequence of events that occur when the rest of the world discover “Anne”, are both tragic and touchingly similar.

Queen Anne’s Lace is about discovering and acknowledging our accountability in the ongoing relationship with this Earth who has a Spirit and is a Living Being, capable of a deep and unconditional Love.

My Sister Cathy

“Women have been going missing from Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, and across the province, for decades. Women, especially Aboriginal women, sex workers, and women living in poverty, continue to face extreme violence in their lives, and experience profound barriers to reporting their victimization to police.”

-Open Letter: Groups affirm boycott of discriminatory Missing Women Commission of Inquiry April 10, 2012

This is an eye-opening book about a sister that Steven WinterHawk never knew existed until he woke up on one July morning in 2012 from a dream. The dream was as real and vivid as any memory of waking life. Here, he shares how that dream led him to uncover a shocking truth not just about “Cathy” but the many other women who like her have disappeared without a trace.

Author Steven WinterHawk was inspired to write A Spark of the Fire—a science-fiction and fantasy book—by stories of his Native ancestors, his dreams, and Norse mythology.

Native stories have long been the inspiration for WinterHawk’s people. These stories are not usually meant to be taken literally and are told and retold orally to be changed as the situation requires, shaping reality.

The theme of the stories in A Spark of the Fire is part relationships and part paradox of interstellar travel to other worlds beyond the stars.

Shiloh: A Native American Jesus is a work of fiction based on the author’s visions and dreams, Native stories, and the Bible.

Shiloh: A Native American Jesus is a story about a Native man called Shiloh, who has the memories of Jesus. Shiloh was born of a Native American mother named Mary and a Portuguese father named Joseph. This novel takes place in a world in which Rome did not fall. The head of Rome is an elusive man known only as “the Emperor.” This Rome was visited by aliens–Native spirits from the star Sirius who foretold of a prophesy concerning the end of the world.

From author Steven WinterHawk’s Native way of looking at life, there are differences in the story of Jesus and the Bible. One main difference is the “Arrow of Truth,” which is a more positive replacement for the Christian idea of sin.

The first book in a two-part series, This is a Circle  (Mary and Joseph) is a work of fiction, based on author Steven WinterHawk’s personal visions and dreams, Native stories, and the Christian Bible. It takes place in a parallel world that he visited in his dreams.

This is a Circle  (Mary and Joseph) is primarily about the courtship of Mary, an Ojibway maiden, by a Portuguese man named Joseph, which results in the birth of a Native Jesus. This takes place in present time in a world where the story of Jesus been altered through translation and editing and the people can only believe what they are told is the truth by Rome. Rome did not fall, as in our world, and the head of Rome is an elusive man known only as “the Emperor.” This Rome was visited by aliens—Native spirits from the star Sirius who foretold of a prophesy concerning the end of the world.

“What’s your name? Is it Susie or Sam?” This line from an early rock song can aptly describe the question that is the driving force for the young boy in this book. He is taken to a residential school, where his name and identity are stolen from him. In this school, he is given a name that is not his own and is forced to forget his native language and culture. In this school, however, he is contacted by a spirit who helps him learn the language of the stars. She tells the boy her name is Alice.

The stone people said:

In the beginning of my people’s story
The first creation was stone
The Great Spirit with mystery in mind
Impregnated this stone with life
Knowing full and well that water,
Music, and muse
Would crack open the stone
And set Great Spirit’s fire free
